CY-96000 Flocked Nasopharyngeal Swab is used to collect a sample of cells from the nasopharynx, the top part of the nose and throat, to test for respiratory infections such as COVID-19, whooping cough, and influenza. Unlike traditional spun-fiber swabs, flocked swabs have tips made of flocked nylon fibers that draw fluid into the swab through capillary action, allowing for efficient sample collection and disbursement.

Our flocked swabs feature perpendicular nylon fibers that optimize specimen collection and elution into transport media.

How to Use Flocked Nasopharyngeal Swab

Application: Mini Oropharyngeal Swab / Nasopharyngeal Sampling Swab
For the collection of nasopharyngeal or oropharyngeal specimens, and then detect SARS-COV-2, etc.

1. Tilt the patient’s head back and insert the nasopharyngeal swab into the nostril until the swab collar touches the outside of the nose.
2. Once the flocked swab is in place, rotate it in a circular motion 2 times and keep it in place for 10-15 seconds for optimal sample collection.
3. Remove the nasal swab or nasopharyngeal swab from the patient and insert the tip into an acceptable viral transport medium.
4. Break the swab shaft against the side of the tube, and close the lid.
5. Transport specimen to testing laboratory.

Note:  Collected by a healthcare professional or a patient self-collected sample is acceptable when the patient is in an appropriate clinical setting.

Sampling from the middle turbinate position is not as uncomfortable as the nasopharyngeal area. Since the body of adults is different from that of children, we provide different sizes of nylon mid-turbinate swabs, so that children will not be injured in the process of sample collection.

How To Use Nylon Mid-Turbinate Swab

1. Have the subject lift their head and gently insert the swab into their nasal cavity until the blockage touches their nose.
2. Rotate the swab to collect as many samples as possible.
3. Take the swab out of the nasal cavity slowly, put it into the sampling tube vertically, break off the tail of the Nylon Mid-Turbinate Swab, and tighten the sampling tube to avoid leakage.
4. Send it to the laboratory for inspection as soon as possible.

Each lint swab is placed inside a medical tube, and you can tell that it has not been used by looking at the intact sticker on the outside of the tube. Of course, you can also mark the name or time of the sample collected on the label, which is very convenient.
